PaperX.com was a business to business portal and e-business platform provider for the bulk paper industry.
Expressive Ltd was called in to fill a skills gap caused by a previous employee moving on, and from the outset provided web developer skills and Perl scripting skills.
As PaperX moved on, and with venture capital running out, the role changed. No longer was web development a major skill that was needed, rather a role somewhere between systems administrator and developer support was required. With our usual flexibilty we stepped right in, running Solaris and Linux boxes, coping with code deployment & database issues and replacing a £20,000 firewall with a Linux based solution which was faster and within PaperXs control for the first time.
Unfortunately the end was near, but we were there right until the bitter end. PaperX went into recievership on February 28th 2001.
